About Tarot Lookup

Tarot Lookup is a fast reference tool for the 78 cards of the tarot, built for one job: letting you look up a card’s meaning in seconds during a reading. No ads, no pop-ups, no long intros — just search, tap, read. It works offline once loaded and can be added to your home screen.

The deck

The imagery is the Rider–Waite–Smith deck, illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith and first published in 1909. The original artwork is in the public domain in the United States. This is the most widely known and taught tarot deck, which is why its symbolism appears throughout the card meanings here.

The meanings

All card meanings, keywords, and symbolism notes are written originally for this site. They draw on the established tradition — including A. E. Waite’s Pictorial Key to the Tarot (1911) and standard Golden Dawn correspondences — but the wording and interpretation are our own. They are meant to be plain, warm, and useful at the table, not exhaustive.

Reversed meanings here are read as blocked, internalized, or excessive forms of the upright energy rather than simple opposites. Any “love,” “career,” or yes/no framings are one lens among many — tarot is interpretive, and your own reading of a card in context matters more than any single definition.

A note

This tool is for reflection and entertainment. It isn’t a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.
