What was built on a shaky foundation is coming down — and the collapse is clearing the way for truth. The Tower shows lightning striking a fortress, figures falling from its crown. This is sudden, disruptive change: a shock, a revelation, an illusion shattered in an instant. It rarely feels good, but what it destroys was not built to last. The lightning is a flash of truth you could no longer avoid. Let the false structure fall. What remains afterward is real, and you can build something honest on ground that will actually hold.
The upheaval is either being resisted or moving through more slowly. Reversed, The Tower can mean you sense the collapse coming and are bracing against it, delaying a reckoning that is going to arrive anyway. Sometimes it points to a disaster narrowly averted, or a breakdown happening quietly rather than all at once. Stop propping up what is already failing. Facing the change on your own terms is far gentler than being caught in it.
Symbolism & imagery
Lightning strikes a tall tower and knocks its golden crown loose; flames burst from the windows as two figures plunge headfirst toward the ground. A jolt of divine truth demolishing what was built on falsehood.
